A pool photograph can make a hotel seem perfect for a family break or an early swim. It cannot tell you whether the pool will be available when you plan to use it. Check the operating details before making that facility the deciding factor.
Ask about your actual dates and times
Instead of asking only whether the hotel has a pool, give your stay dates and intended swimming time. Ask about planned maintenance, seasonal opening and any separate timetable for lessons, private events or adult-only sessions.
Find out whether access is included in your room rate or requires a fee, reservation or spa package. If you are booking through an intermediary, obtain the facility details from the hotel and keep the response with the reservation information.
Check who can use it and how
For a family stay, ask about age rules, supervision requirements and whether every person in the booking has access. Do not assume that a lifeguard is present. Follow the pool’s stated safety rules and arrange appropriate supervision.
For an accessibility question, describe the feature you need rather than asking only whether the pool is accessible. The route from the room, changing facilities and method of entering the water are separate details. Request current photographs or measurements where useful.
- Are towels provided, and where are they collected?
- Is there a changing area available before check-in or after checkout?
- Does a session have a time limit or capacity reservation?
- What happens if the facility is unexpectedly closed?
Consider an evening arrival followed by an early departure. A pool open only between those two times may add little value to that particular booking. Compare the schedule with your itinerary before paying more for the amenity.
Policies can change, so reconfirm important arrangements close to arrival. A clear written answer does not prevent every closure, but it gives you a much firmer basis for choosing than an undated promotional photograph.
