A bold heads-up: heavy rain is on the way along England’s southern coast, with a yellow weather warning now in effect. The alert covers the entire south coast from Margate to Penzance and includes Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, and Hampshire.
Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to assemble a basic emergency flood kit and stay prepared, as advised by the Met Office.
In addition, there’s a real risk of power outages, and rain-driven spray plus flooding could complicate driving. Some roads may shut, and travel disruptions are possible.
Motorists should expect spray and standing water to affect road conditions, which could lead to longer travel times by car or bus and potential delays to rail services.
There is also a slight possibility that train and bus services could be cancelled.
