The third and fourth episodes, forming a gripping two-part story titled "The Enemy Within," were originally set to air on BBC One on Monday, February 9th. However, the network made the decision to reschedule them, opting instead to broadcast the fifth and sixth episodes of the season.
"The Enemy Within" focuses on the forensics team's investigation into a deadly stabbing incident in Birmingham. Coincidentally, a similar tragic event unfolded over the weekend, where two young teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were brutally attacked with a machete. This real-life tragedy prompted the BBC to take action.
A BBC spokesperson explained, "In light of the attack in Birmingham, we've made the decision to adjust our programming schedule. This week's episodes of Silent Witness will not air as planned, and we've replaced them with later episodes from the series."
Silent Witness, now in its 29th season, has recently relocated its setting from London to Birmingham. The new season marks the return of fan-favorite characters, including Emilia Fox as Dr. Nikki Alexander and David Caves as her husband and colleague, Jack Hodgson. Also reprising their roles are Maggie Steed as Harriet and Fran Mills as Kit.
